Over the past couple of years I've done plenty of diets with small results. I learned about the keto diet through a friend about a year ago.
The first month was rough. You don't realize until your tracking your food that carbs are everywhere as well as hidden carbs. So it took a while for me to adjust to that.
I started to noticed my energy levels increased during gym sessions and just on a regular daily basis. My hunger was gone. I usually eat 1 to 2 meals a day and I'm satisfied.
Last month I stopped focusing on the scale just started focusing on the mirror. My weight was fluctuating for a month. I gained weight at the end of month but I looked leaner comparing photos.
That would be my biggest piece of advice is to not focus on the scale too much and just look at yourself in the mirror. Stick with it and trust the process because it doesn't happen over night.
