low carb : german pancakes

German pancakes, also known as dutch babies and puff pancakes, are a staple at my house for several reasons:

1) the ingredients are so basic I always have them in my fridge

2) they take under 30 minutes from start to finish to make

3) everyone in my house loves them, even the kids, so they are a popular go-to

4) flavor versatility

5) budget-friendly

Have eggs, cream, and almond flour in your kitchen? You can whip these up in minutes! The flavor base is also very versatile, allowing you to make it a sweet dish, breakfast dish, or savory dish. Your imagination is your limit with this one! Simply follow the directions below and then add bacon, broccoli, spinach, sweetener, cinnamon, or flavorings to fit your mood. Top with berries, cream, sugar-free syrup, meat and cheese, or veggies! Again, whatever you're in the mood for. This is the best dish, am I right?! I have a feeling it will soon be on your go-to menu as well:)

Makes: 2 servings



  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Place butter in 9x9 glass pan.

  3. Place pan in oven to melt butter while you mix up the rest of the ingredients.

  4. Combine eggs, cream, flour, salt, and flavorings in blender.

  5. Blend on high for 30 seconds or until batter is smooth.

  6. Remove melted butter from oven and spread butter evenly along bottom and sides of pan.

  7. Pour batter into the hot pan.

  8. Place pan in oven and cook 20-25 minutes, until golden and puffy.

  9. Top with butter, sugar-free syrup, berries, or savory toppings.
