My husband and I started our Keto journey on April 17,2017. At this point I was at my heaviest I had ever been, 220 pounds. I decided that I was done being overweight, tired, depressed and complacent. Before I found Keto, I would literally not eat all day and then eat a lot for dinner. I was making all the wrong choices when I did eat and somehow managed to add 70 lbs to my frame. I was never able to stick to any diet. I had tried Herballife, HCG Diet, Slim Fast, Weight Watchers. Nothing ever worked for me.

Keto has been my lifesaver! My husband had done Keto on and off through the years as a way to help with his MMA Training and Weight Cutting. We started with the basics protein, veggies, fat, and bullet proof coffee. After 2 weeks the weight literally melted off. I was starting to feel like I had more energy and most importantly I was more in tune with my body. Keto has helped me realize what my body needs more than ever now. I know when I’m lacking fat, I know when I am fat adapted. I know when I need more sodium. I am listening to my body and heal it with food!

The best thing I ever did with Keto was keep it creative. My husband and I will come up with fun and creative meals to help keep things new and fun. Documenting with pictures our meals, snacks, tips, and tricks has really helped as well. We never get bored with our food. I have never eaten so much delicious, healthy food in my life. I was always hungry before. And bloated after every meal. I am never left feeling hungry or bloated since we switched to Keto. I must also mention that I eat more veggies in a day than I used to in a week!

Since starting Keto in April I have officially lost 70lbs. I am no longer needing Thyroid medication, which I have been taking since my partial thyroid removal due to cancer 7 years ago. My doctor was doubtful that I would ever be able to go without medication, but my blood levels have been perfect! I am also off depression medication as well. I have more energy in the mornings and I do not feel sluggish at the end of the day. The benefits have been amazing. I look forward to exercise now! I have never taken any extra ketones or used test strips for Keto, as I said before I know my body better at 35 than I ever did. I really feel better in my 30’s than I ever did in my 20’s! Believe me when I say that you CAN heal yourself through food, and I am so glad that I have had success with Keto, there hasn’t been one day that I have craved breads, sugars, or anything for that matter…Keto is my way of life <3
