I started my keto journey on July 22, 2017 after a friend came for a visit to my house the week before. I saw she was drinking a zero carb beverage and asked her about it.
That's when my life changed for the better.
I had never heard of keto before then. I decided to start that next Monday with lots of high hopes. I went to the grocery store the Sunday before and grabbed all the essentials that I saw on my favorite group, Keto Connection on FB and started watching Eric Berg videos to gain more knowledge of this way of eating. The first day was simple, I thought how can this work?! The following week I started feeling really bad at work. Yes, I read about keto flu but it never REALLY sank in that it's really a thing. I started wondering if this is even healthy for me to feel this way. I almost gave up till I read a little more, started supplements and drank a lot of pickle juice.
I am so glad I did because it passed and I started losing weight , felt more amazing then ever, and was pumped up about how fast this is working for me.
I finally thought for the first time that this is something I can actually do!
Fast forward to now, May 17th, 2018 and 67 pounds lighter I have a before and after photo like you see on TV or social media sites. Something I thought I'd never have. I didn't know I could actually control what I put in my mouth. I've always been a lover of food. If I can accomplish what I have I know that you can too! I have 20 more pounds to go and I'm going to maintain by upping my carbs to 50 where I've been eating 20 and under. Hope whoever is reading this gets the keto fire of excitement and reads up on it and starts this way of eating say they too can have a success story.
