low carb : jicama fries

Do you miss munching your favorite fries while chatting with friends or while binge-watching at home? Well, we have a good news for you. No need to say no to your cravings for French fries with our version of low-carb keto-friendly fries.

Makes: 2 cups


  • 2 cups of sliced jicama

  • ¾ teaspoon sea salt divided

  • 1 teaspoon cupin

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil

  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder


  1. Peel the jicama and slice into the shape of French fries

  2. In a medium pot of water, put ½ teaspoon sea salt, then boil it.

  3. Place the jicama fries in boiling water for 10 minutes. After which, drain them using colander.

  4. After draining, put the jicama fries into a large mixing bowl. Coat them with avocado oil then sprinkle with ¼ teaspoon sea salt, garlic powder, cumin, and smoked paprika. Blend in spices.

  5. In an oiled baking pan, spread the fries and bake for 30 minutes at 400°F. Turn halfway through baking time, until fries are crisp. If you want to make the fries crispier, remove them from the oven after about 10 minutes then fry in hot oil until they are brown.
