I am a model/restaurant owner and keto enthusiast! I'm passionate about the low carb lifestyle, often referred to as the keto diet. I made the change to a ketogenic lifestyle in 2015, and I can honestly say that it's been an incredibly life changing experience for me. My goal is to help others feel the same way! Had I known dieting was so much easier than I thought, I would have started cutting the carbs from my diet even sooner! But I have been fortunate enough to discover low carb, try it for myself, and reap the benefits of committing to this type of sugar free lifestyle. But what truly bothered me, was that I was seeing all of these truly impressive results, and losing weight had never been so easy! I couldn't understand how everyone didn't know about this diet, lifestyle, or just about the negative effects of carbohydrates in general! I had to do something about this, I felt compelled to be the one that spreads the word of the keto diet, while simotaneously debunking all of the diet myths, fads, and false information that we can been taught as a society for decades.
So first, I needed to educate. I started my blog niKETO in May 2017 to share my journey and educate others about the ketogenic diet, and this totally alternative lifestyle that was not very popular at the time. Not many people knew about the keto diet. Not everyone wanted to believe that it was, for once, a diet that actually worked. I want to inspire those who struggle with losing weight by showing you an alternative way of eating. No gym. No calorie counting. No salad fasts or juice cleanses, but actual food, tasty food, and interestingly enough… Food high in fat.
The ketogenic diet has many positive benefits, including weight loss, mental clarity, improved mood, controlled appetite, decreased cravings, and less dependency on eating sugary, carbohydrate-rich foods in order to sustain a level and adequate amount of energy. The ketogenic diet is a great way to kick-start weight loss, and cutting down on the amount of carbohydrates consumed on a daily basis is a proven way to maintain your weight and enjoy the health benefits the ketogenic diet and a low-carbohydrate diet have to offer.
Firmly established in this new lifestyle, I was unable to find readily made food to order and a wide variety of restaurant options that were also low in carbohydrates. After seeing such amazing results from cutting the carbs out of my diet, I wondered why this dietary lifestyle trend is not more mainstream or known amongst the general population. From this thought, my niKETO restaurant was born.
With my restaurant, I intend to inspire change in individuals, and to inspire change on a much larger scale by reducing the amount of carbohydrates we consume as a whole. The concept of niKETO was influenced by the ketogenic diet, but the key to success for niKETO is much simpler, as our goal is not to encourage this drastic ketogenic dietary lifestyle change, but to create awareness about the negative effects that excess carbohydrates have on the body.
